I've just confirmed my surgical appointment with the doctor: my gallbladder is coming out on Thursday. I'm a little nervous about it, since I've never had any kind of surgery before!
In the "in between" period -- the days between hospitalization and surgery -- I've been working in the studio as much as possible, nearly completing two new dolls: a French lady from a period fashion plate and a fairy for a contest I'm hosting for the Fantasy Artists of Etsy. The winner of the last contest gets to host and provide the prize for the next contest. The contest theme, pre-determined, is The Elements, so I've been working on a sculptural fairy in "silver."
In other news, I did hear back from Williamsburg. Last we communicated, they were still interested and planned to meet with the folk art curator last Friday to discuss the matter. I am waiting to hear what happened at that meeting, but, optimistically, ordered fabrics that will work for each of the dolls I envision making for them. I figure, even if they don't hire me, I'll make the dolls and sell them in my Etsy shop.
More later,
Nina
