My Own Men in Kilts

Finally got some pictures of Robert Hamilton, the figure of my vampire character in his kilt, and my own gorgeous hubby looking splendid in his own kilt at the Renaissance Festival last weekend. (Try to look past that fat girl in the fairy costume! The gorgeous fairy in blue is my sister, Liz.)

For the past few days, I've been working on his family genealogy. His parents had very little to pass along, so I've been doing lots of work searching and constructing a tree at ancestry.com. Turns out he's related to George Washington! His family has been here as long as mine and his roots go back to England, Ireland, and Scotland. He's of the Rayburn clan (his father's mother was a Rayburn). I traced them all the way back to a relative who immigrated from England to the Irish-Scotch settlement in Virginia in the mid-1700s. I think that gives him the right to wear the Rayburn clan kilt. Does anybody disagree? That's not the kilt he's wearing in the photo. I'll have to special order him one from Scotland when I can afford it. Then I'll have to come up with places he can wear it (besides the home office).

Anyway, take a look at my two gorgeous men in kilts -- Dan and Robert. I'm quite proud of them.

Splendid work on Robert Hamilton! I too go weak in the knees for men in kilts ;) How wonderful that you were able to trace your family genealogy, it does take quite a while to do but well worth the research.
Looks like you had a wonderful time at the RenFaire.. you all look mah-velous: )
Happy to have found your blog, love your work- it is just amazing!
